The world fades.

I turn inward:

Thayum thatha thayum thai.

For so long I have heard their voices.

Car horns beep;

Morning alarms ring;

Sirens blare;

The school PA calls us to attention!

Temple bells announce the approaching muhurtam.

Too short, too long.

Too small, too big.

Too fat, never too Thin!

Too traditional, Too modern.

Not from here, not from there.

A bird sings to find a mate,

Another bird chirps for the chicks to return home.

A nightingale sings to hear its own pure voice!

I have awoken!

My soul is singing to hear itself;

Dancing to feel its own lightness;

Writing to experience its own thoughts!

I AM!
