Peace is not Passive

Love is not a possession you can catch,

Like the breath flowing in and out,

A dance with the wind.

Peace is not passive.

Strong and active!

Know your own strength!

Show up and serve!

I am proud to serve as your servant!

As your employer!

As your mother!.

As your daughter!

As your friend!

Show up day in and day out!

I am no martyr.

I will not be trodden upon.

I have the courage to see myself!

To stand in my truth bravely!

To see your truth!

To believe in you and me!

May I be the way!

For myself and other to find their ground.

To feel their way back into the womb of Mother Earth.

Until we all stand still,

look up in a gratitude

with a collective smile and sigh,

What a beautiful World!

The drawing for this poem is an expression of joy with my beautiful 3 year old little girl and 1 year old son.
