Seasons of the Heart

Every year your heart should break a little.

Observe red leaves fall

crumble and crackle beneath your feet.

Every year your heart should fall in love a little,

Observe blooming white, yellow, orange, red

snow drops, daffodils, nasturtiums, and roses.

Every year wear your heart on your sleeve.

Barren, naked, vulnerable

dwelling into their inner woody core

trees, twigs, ice, and bark.
