The Death of A Star is the Beginning of All Life

250 mg of Fe pulse through me.
Created once in a millennium in this galaxy,
Burning brighter than a thousand and one suns.
The death of a star,
and the beginning of new life.
Carbon! Iron! Sulphur! Oxygen!
An act of Love?
Stardust!
You, me, every living being.
The Earth’s very core,
Rising to the surface,
Fiery, burning displays
that form rock,
or settle back into the Earth’s core.
May these 250 mg of Fe form a bridge
spun lighter than the finest spider silk,
stronger than the Golden Gate Bridge cables,
between you, me, and the Universe.
